JOB TITLE: FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN – FILTERS

We are seeking a Field Service Technician - Filters to join our team. You will be responsible for providing Metso’s customers with professional technical support of its products. 

The successful Candidate will be responsible for executing technical services at customer sites. Providing feedback on customer satisfaction, technology / equipment / service performance and production improvement activities relating to Market Area

In this position, you will report to the Field Service Technician Supervisor

This position is mainly located in Centurion

TEAM YOU BELONG TO

You will join a team of Technicians that strive to effectively deliver a seamless experience, that delivers a “technical solution” that meets the customer’s needs, thus supporting the sales team to, to enhance and build relationships with the downstream effect on sales realisation.

You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders, such as Field Service Technician Team to assure a common understanding/application of technical and safety support and information to support and provide excellent customer service on Metso’s equipment. 

 

WHAT YOU WILL DO

You are responsible for the following per your allocated area of responsibility:

Delivering technical services at customer sites Basic customer problem-solving, providing operation and maintenance instructions to customers Service contract site visits - repair work; technical inspections and recommendations at site; preventive maintenance work at site Local installation and start-up support of pre-assembled products Providing specific technical discipline work at site Identifying sales leads and promoting services offering Train customers on basic operation and maintenance Deliver site reports, time sheets and travel expenses reports after all jobs performed Ensure proper fulfillment of all QEHS rules and regulations of Metso Outotec and the customer Perform safety inspection at workplace prior to start the job Perform or participate in job safety analysis (JSA) for any specific job at site Correct usage of PPE Reporting any unsafe condition at site

WHO YOU ARE

Matric (Grade 12) Trade Certificate/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Background in mining, metals or metallurgical processing Knowledge of Metso’s Filter technology (Advantage)

HARD AND SOFT SKILLS THAT ARE ESSENTIAL FOR THIS ROLE

Strong technical, analytical, and mechanical skills and abilities Proven troubleshooting skills Ability to deliver technical reports, training, presentations as required with a high degree of professionalism Ability to work independently in a high pressure environment High level communication skills – English fluency Ability to work as part of a team and foster a team approach to customer service, while sharing market area service responsibilities with other Engineers and Technicians Ability to share responsibility in building long term customer relationship Reliable, ethical and professional Must reside within the Burgersfort Flexibility to travel up to 75% of time is a must
