Field Service Technician
**Compensation: Salary is $50,000-$55,000/yr. dependent upon education and experience.** **Position Summary** The Field Service Technician I will be responsible for user support, installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of computer hardware and software systems of the organization’s network. The technician will be responsible for imaging and configuring end- user hardware, shipping, and receiving equipment, working with the end-user community to provide general applications support, a manner consistent with the National Youth Advocate Program’s mission, values, and philosophies. + Hardware Installation and Maintenance: + Assemble, configure, and install computer systems, including desktops, laptops, and servers. + Upgrade and replace hardware components such as RAM, hard drives, and graphics cards. + Conduct routine maintenance to ensure optimal performance, including cleaning and cooling system checks. + Software Installation and Configuration: + Install and configure operating systems (e.g., Windows, macOS, Linux) and software applications. + Update and patch software to ensure security and functionality. + Troubleshoot and resolve software-related issues. + Troubleshooting and Technical Support: + Provide technical support to end-users, both in-person and remotely. + Diagnose and resolve hardware and software problems, including connectivity issues, system crashes, and peripheral malfunctions. + Document and track technical issues and their resolutions. + Escalate service/s requests as required and necessary. + Support IT Department on special projects as assigned. + Recommend and implement procedural process changes to ensure effective and efficient IT department and organizational operation. + Network Support: + Set up and maintain local area networks (LANs) and wireless networks (Wi-Fi). + Troubleshoot network connectivity issues, configure routers, switches, and firewalls. + Ensure network security and compliance with best practices. + Data Backup and Recovery: + Implement data backup and recovery solutions to protect critical data. + Assist in data retrieval and restoration in case of data loss or system failure. + System Security: + Implement security measures to protect computer systems from viruses, malware, and unauthorized access. + Update antivirus software and apply security patches. + Hardware and Software Inventory Management: + Maintain an inventory of computer equipment and software licenses. + Procure new hardware and software as needed, ensuring compliance with organizational policies. + Performs network and telecommunication-related projects of all levels. + Documentation: + Create and update documentation for system configurations, troubleshooting procedures, and best practices. + Pay attention to details on all tasks. + Keep records of hardware and software inventory. + Document all tasks timelines, schedule and or update project plans as needed. + User Training: + Train end-users on basic computer operations and software applications. + Provide guidance on best practices for data security and system use. + Coordinates and leads projects that support the entire organization by collaborating with stakeholders from all departments and programs across all locations. + Makes recommendations to improve company policies and procedures based off feedback received from staff. + Continuous Learning: + Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies through training and certifications. + Participate in professional development to enhance technical skills. + Maintain an adequate level of knowledge of operating systems and commercial and customer application software being used to provide support to customers. + Communications: + Embrace and be a great team player. + Display the ability to follow directions. + Performs other duties as requested. **MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS** + Either 2-year Internship utilizing computer technical skills or a minimum of 2 years of computer technical training with an accredited college or university or 2 years of IT support experience in a professional service environment. + Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, and Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) can be advantageous. + Demonstrated proficiency in troubleshooting computer hardware and software issues. + Demonstrated proficiency working with AD, O365, TeamViewer, etc. + Demonstrated proficiency in imaging, Autopilot, and configuration of end-user hardware. + Strong written, verbal, problem-solving, and communication skills. + Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with all organizational levels. + Knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, and software applications. + Ability to work independently and in a team. + Attention to detail and a commitment to providing excellent customer service. + Well organized and possess the ability to multi-task. + Continuously works on improving own knowledge, skills, and attitudes and learning new technologies. + Proficient use of desktop and laptop computers, smart phones and tablets, printers, fax machines and photocopiers as well as software including word processing, spreadsheet and database programs. **OTHER SKILLS** + Experience and or familiarity with networking concepts and protocols (virtual applications, servers, storage). + Knowledge of system vulnerabilities and security issues. + Ability to respond to help desk requests after hours as needed. + Diagnostic and maintenance abilities with PC hardware, software, and local area network. + Excellent customer service and communication skills. + Ability to take initiative and manage multiple detailed tasks in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. + Great analytical thinking. + Ability to train, mentor, and or coach others. +
