Join ABB Motion Services as a Field Service Technician!
Your role and responsibilities
ABB Motion Services is seeking a qualified and motivated Field Service Technician to become part of our national field service team. We’re looking for a candidate who holds a valid Electrical Fitter License, demonstrates a strong mechanical aptitude, and is proficient in Microsoft Office applications. In this role, you will carry out testing, diagnostics, and service work on large-scale rotating electrical machines of low to medium complexity. All work will be performed in accordance with ABB’s standard procedures, quality benchmarks, and safety protocols.
You’ll also play a key role in delivering exceptional customer service, working closely with clients and collaborating with internal ABB teams to ensure optimal outcomes.
The work model for the role is: On-site
You will be mainly accountable for:
Working with the customer (while on-site) to identify opportunities to improve the customer’s operations and eliminate pain points.
Performing field service tasks, identifying technical issues, and performing analysis through remote or on-site activity in service categories and products for which they are certified to perform.
Preparing material lists needed for service activity and ensuring that all materials, parts, and equipment are available and of appropriate quality for service activities.
Acting as trainer when needed, for field service associates and customers.
Qualifications for the role
Valid Electrical Fitter License
Minimum 2 years of hands-on industry experience
Willingness and ability to travel frequently to remote and international sites
Demonstrates strong knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) standards.
Strong understanding of regulatory and legal compliance
Experience in providing technical support and services
Demonstrated mechanical aptitude with the ability to solve technical challenges
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for documentation and communication
