Position Summary:
We are seeking a Field Service Representative responsible for supporting the commissioning, operation, maintenance, and servicing of mechanical systems and equipment at customer locations. The role involves technical support activities, diagnosing and resolving mechanical issues, and ensuring that equipment operates safely and efficiently. You will assist in the preparation, testing, installation, and maintenance of mechanical components and contribute to the delivery of technical service excellence while maintaining strong relationships with customers and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the installation, commissioning, testing, and maintenance of mechanical assemblies, equipment, and systems at customer sites.
Conduct field inspections, service evaluations, and diagnostics to identify mechanical faults and recommend corrective actions.
Assist in preparing service proposals, technical documentation, cost estimates, and customer quotations based on specifications and project requirements.
Coordinate the procurement and selection of appropriate tools, equipment, and materials required for service and maintenance tasks.
Collect and analyse technical data from mechanical systems to assist in troubleshooting, reporting, and future improvements.
Perform mechanical modifications, assembly, and repairs according to engineering designs and service standards.
Organise and oversee preventative maintenance, repairs, and inspections of mechanical equipment to ensure operational reliability and compliance with safety regulations.
Communicate effectively with customers and internal teams to manage service requests, technical support needs, and warranty claims.
Contribute to the development and implementation of technical solutions for equipment optimization and performance enhancement.
Maintain accurate service records, technical documentation, and compliance reports as required.
Ensure all service activities are carried out in a safe and compliant manner, adhering to workplace health and safety requirements.
Provide customer support and technical training as needed during service visits.
Collaborate with engineers, project teams, and external stakeholders to deliver service excellence and customer satisfaction.
Undertake additional tasks and responsibilities as directed to support operational goals.
Requirements:
Completion of Diploma or higher degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
Relevant practical experience in mechanical field service, maintenance, commissioning, or technical support roles.
Sound knowledge of mechanical systems, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting techniques.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to liaise professionally with customers and internal stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team environment.
Flexibility to travel to customer locations as required for service support activities.
A commitment to upholding safety standards and maintaining high-quality service delivery.
Preferred Experience / Skills:
Familiarity with SAP systems (SD, MM, PP modules) is advantageous.
