Field Service Engr II
The Field Service Engineer II reports to Field Service Sr. Supervisor and functions as site’s point of contact (Site Lead) for the IGS project team and customer. The Site Lead is ultimately responsible for successful execution of the installation and pre-commissioning (run in) of IGS conveyor systems. **KEY RESPONSIBILITIES** + Travel extensively throughout United States to perform conveyor installations and oversee the work of other installation members on site with an eye for quality of work. + Act as technical interface to mechanical and electrical installers and responsible that the system is installed properly to meet engineering’s stated requirements for functionality, standards, and quality as described in the supporting documentation and drawings. + Coordinates with Field Service Sr. Supervisor to ensure required prerequisites (e.g., design inputs, tools, documentation, deliverables, schedule, budget, low-cost engineering content) are in place prior to commencing the work, including the short-schedule tie-in processes. + Onsite POC for day-to-day questions or issues from customer and subcontracted services, if applicable. Decisions on larger issues to be communicated by Site Lead to Field Service Sr. Supervisor. + Actively participate in project requirement analysis, implementation status, and system testing. + Awareness of deliverables to comply with Phase Gate Reviews for customer acceptance and ensuring all requirements are completed within the agreed schedule and budget. + Participate in weekly project reviews with IGS project team members and program manager. + Actively reviews, monitors, and controls the project’s health from execution perspective. Ensure technical scope changes are identified and understood in timely, proactive manner to Project Managers. + Track As-Sold vs As-Built scope throughout the project lifecycle and documents any changes as risks/opportunities. Communicates with project team and Field Service Sr. Supervisor to identify and document out of scope issues. Understands IGS’ change order process to prevent site work from being completed without agreed upon authorizations. + Prepare and maintain work schedules, generate technical reports, correspondence, and minutes of meetings to control, document and convey information relating to project to Leadership and Customer. + Coordinates with engineering discipline leads through all phases of the project and ensures deliverables are met and complete. + Monitors installation team hours to ensure assigned project is completed within agreed cost budget, and that any impacts to project cost are communicated to Field Service Sr. Supervisor, who will communicate the potential cost via CORA software. + Seek efficiencies in the project execution methodology to bring down cost and or increase the value delivered to the customer. Develop and enhance the work processes and procedure as required. + Establish and maintains good working relationships with numerous personnel in management, engineering, and installation subcontractors, when engaged, who all depend on IQO members’ insights, analytical ability, and judgment. YOU MUST HAVE + Must be able to travel throughout the United States and spend project duration at site, which typically is 4 – 16 weeks. + Possess 4 years of conveyor installation experience and demonstrate technical expertise regarding conveyor installations.
