As a Field Service Engineer, you will be a key technical resource supporting Agilent’s IVD biopsy tissue stainer instrumentation systems and other multi-vendor solutions. You’ll work in a variety of laboratory environments, applying your technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and customer-first mindset to ensure optimal instrument performance and customer satisfaction.

Perform on-site installation, implementation, maintenance, and repair of Agilent and third-party systems, including hardware, software, networking products, and operating systems
Optimize system configurations and troubleshoot performance issues
Deliver preventive maintenance, upgrades, and emergency repairs
Respond promptly to service requests and proactively communicate with customers throughout the service process
Advise customers on preventive maintenance and configuration best practices to ensure optimal performance
Collaborate with managers and sales teams to align service delivery with customer expectations
Maintain compliance with Agilent policies and uphold our reputation for exceptional customer service
Provide feedback to Product Specialists, manufacturing teams, and OEM vendors regarding performance anomalies
Document service activities, time, and expenses accurately in SAP and other systems
Train customers and fellow engineers on equipment operation and maintenance
Support complaint handling and quality systems as required
Territory Coverage:
This is a multistate territory with primary coverage in Boston, Rhode Island, Connecticut, and the Northeastern U.S. regularly.
The ideal candidate must reside within a 60-mile radius of Boston.
Travel will include daily, overnight, and occasional weekend travel, as needed, primarily throughout the New England region.
The ability to travel to support clients throughout the U.S. is a requirement.
Ability to travel up to 50% or more.
Job Requirements
Must consent to and meet Agilent-approved customer/vendor credentialing requirements to access customer sites. These may include proof of identification, certifications, and compliance with health and safety protocols.
QualificationsHigh school diploma, military training, associate degree, or relevant college coursework in electronics or a related field required
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or a related science field is a plus
4+ years of experience in a similar role or as an end user of clinical/analytical instrumentation in regulated lab environments
Hands-on experience with instrumentation maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair preferred
Familiarity with Agilent biopsy tissue stainers is a plus
Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Proficient in computer systems; able to analyze data using Excel (pivot tables) and complete online training modules

In the US, this position is eligible for choice of company car or reimbursement for personal vehicle usage.The full-time equivalent pay range for this position is $44.16 - $69.00/hr plus eligibility for bonus, stock and benefits.
