The Field Service Engineer is responsible for providing professional field service support for Molecular Devices products, performing to agreed service levels for all customers within the assigned territory. This will include installations, service repair and preventative maintenance for MD instruments and assisting other field service colleagues.

This position reports to the Field Service Manager; West and is part of the Service organisation located in Ireland and will be fully remote.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

Take ownership of assigned customer service calls, repairs, installations, preventative maintenance and GxP Services and ensuring timely closure of outstanding service issues.

Become technically proficient in the support of our products so that you can provide consistent, world-class levels of service and support to our customers and foster and maintain positive and professional relationships with both external and internal customers to exceed their service expectations.

Promote a consistently positive image of the service organization, our company values and the value of our products and services.

The essential requirements of the job include

Recognized qualification in electrical, electronic or mechanical engineering field or similar,

OR, Relevant work experience in a similar field service role.

Good mechanical, electronics and electrical experience and knowledge of assembly level fault finding and testing.

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:

Ability to travel – approximately 80% in field travel, including overnight travel and some with short-notice for escalations.

Occasional international travel may be required.

Must possess a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

Ability to lift, move or carry equipment up to 25kg.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

Taking ownership of issues from beginning to completion and being innovative in finding pragmatic solutions to problems.
