Job Description
As the Field Service Engineer - Thermal Fleet, you will be the leading technical expert for operations and maintenance of instrumentation and controls equipment, and control system operations philosophy for the fleet.
Responsibilities
Provide oversight and hands on technical expertise during plant outages, forced and planned, as needed to assist plant staff in returning units to service.
Establish a working relationship and regular dialog with I&C Technicians at each site to foster an environment that seeks to improve systems to improve the fleet.
Participate in the development process for upcoming thermal projects.
Provide oversight of commissioning and testing of control systems at operating sites; including new construction and existing site upgrades. This at times will include extended periods of time on site during commissioning and tuning of control systems.
Work with plant staff to monitor and recommend control system equipment upgrade strategies and schedules for existing thermal projects.
Travel 25-35% of the time.
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 8 years of experience in the power generation industry with progressively increasing responsibility for Instrumentation and Controls equipment and systems.
High School diploma or equivalent.
Experience maintaining and commissioning distributed control systems and turbine control systems.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite programs.
Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
Preferred Qualifications
GE Mk VIe experience.
Commissioning experience in a combined cycle facility.
Knowledge of combined cycle power plant maintenance and operations is preferred.
Ability to handle daily communication of expectations, work with multiple parties with differing perspectives, provide feedback and work collaboratively with others.
Communication and interpersonal skills to manage and motivate employees and use oral and written communication to communicate objectives and action plans.
High degree of flexibility and the capacity to work in a rapidly changing and ambiguous environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Base Pay
$62.97 - $72.45 USD Hourly
Bonus: 0% - 15%
The base pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target salary for the position. Invenergy considers a number of factors when determining base pay offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education and skills.
