Field Service Controls Technician

FIELD SERVICE CONTROLS TECHNICIAN

Overview:

Responsible for the installation, maintenance, and optimization of SCADA and motor control systems supporting automated water infrastructure. This includes water features, rainwater harvesting, and potable/non-potable distribution systems. Ensures safe, efficient operation of pumps, valves, and treatment controls across diverse water projects. Company focuses on making custom water fountains & water exhibits including, schools, hotels, waterparks, etc.

Key Responsibilities:

Install and maintain SCADA components for water systems and stormwater harvesting.Program, calibrate, and troubleshoot PLCs, RTUs, and HMIs for pump, valve, and sensor control.Configure and service motor control systems (VFDs, soft starters).Integrate devices using Modbus, BACnet, and DNP3 protocols.Analyze performance data to drive system optimization.Maintain accurate documentation (wiring diagrams, panel layouts, as-builts).Collaborate with engineering, landscape, and water management teams.Perform routine maintenance and respond to field repairs.

Qualifications:

Comply with OSHA, NFPA 70E, and local electrical/water safety standards.Associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Instrumentation, Water Technology, or related field (Bachelor’s preferred).2+ years of hands-on SCADA and motor control experience, preferably in water infrastructure.Proficient in PLC programming (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Schneider, Siemens).Strong understanding of water conveyance and automation systems.Skilled in field troubleshooting of instrumentation, communications, and electrical systems.

Requirements:

Must have a clean DMV record - provide company vehicle for travelMust be open to travel - 95% of travel will be around DFW metroplex - again company vehicle provided



Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $50.00/hr.
