Job Description

The Field Experience Coordinator, under direction, provides coordination and management to University processes related to educator certification.

This position is located on-site at the Stephenville, Texas campus and work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00AM to 5:00PM.


Responsibilities:
• Seeks and secures field placements to meet university and Texas Education Agency
(TEA) requirements for education courses requiring field experiences across all Tarleton
campuses.
• Ensures all required TEA documentation related to Field Experiences is completed by
course instructors, cooperating teachers, field supervisors and/or site coordinators and
on file for all Tarleton Teacher Education Program (TEP) students.
• Verifies students’ successful completion of field experience requirements.
• Submits data to TEA for issuance of students’ teaching or professional certificates, in
addition to confirming completions online.
• Compiles and completes data and tracking tables for reporting and auditing purposes.
• Maintains Educator Portal system, related to students and the status in the Tarleton
TEP, including applications for Clinical Teaching and the Yearlong Teacher Residency.
• Serves as liaison between public school district personnel and the University regarding
preparation programs that provide verification of University and TEA rules and
regulations .
• Assign University Field Supervisors to clinical teachers.
• Assist in scheduling, planning, and implementation of Clinical Teacher Orientations and
Teacher Job Fairs.
• Serves on committees and participate in faculty meetings to provide information
required by faculty and students.


Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and
experience.
• Three years of related experience.
• Experience working in or with public schools preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
• Knowledge of University, State, and Federal laws, regulations, and policies
• Knowledge of the Family Education Rights Privacy Act (FERPA)
• Ability to multitask and work collaboratively with others.
• Ability to communicate effectively to ensure understanding
• Excellent organizational skills.


Other Requirements:

Some travel may be required.

Compensation & Benefits

Pay: Commensurate with experience

Pay Range:

The target base hourly pay range is $22.60 to $24.04 and may be negotiable based on funding availability and candidate experience/skillset in relation to the minimum requirements of this position.
