Role Summary:
The Field Engineer supports the airport’s construction program by providing daily field oversight, inspection coordination, and construction documentation. This role combines traditional CEI strengths—observation, documentation, verification—with construction coordination duties to ensure high-quality execution, contract compliance, and alignment with airport operational protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate and document daily inspections of civil, architectural, structural, andMEP systems.Provide escort services for non-badged personnel within secure work zones.Support Area Managers and the Program Construction Manager with fieldoversight of contractor activities.Monitor construction for compliance with approved drawings, specifications,and safety requirements.Measure and verify installed work to support accurate contractor payapplications.Review drawings and submittals to identify potential field issues and coordinateresolution.Track and assist with RFIs, submittals, and construction schedule updates.Attend progress meetings and contribute field-level updates.Maintain detailed field logs, photo documentation, and inspection reports.Monitor jobsite logistics, safety, phasing, and temporary protection measures.Ensure strict compliance with airport operational and security procedures.
Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum 5 years in vertical construction inspection or fieldengineering. CEI background preferred. Experience with public-sector or airportvertical projects preferred.Skills:Proficient in reviewing and interpreting architectural, structural, and MEPdrawingsStrong documentation and issue-tracking skillsFamiliarity with QA/QC standards and construction sequencing inoperational environmentsExcellent communication and coordination abilitiesComfortable working in secure and active airport facilitiesFlexible schedule for night and weekend shifts as neededOther: Ability to obtain and maintain airport security clearance.
