Field Engineer
Job Description We are seeking a skilled Field Engineer for Contractor working on a multi-year lead service line replacement project at a water treatment plant. This role involves construction inspection for 'outside fence' projects located in Southeastern Wisconsin. Responsibilities + Observe construction personnel working on assigned areas of the construction site. + Ensure construction work matches construction plans. + Identify deficiencies in constructed structures. + Review contract terms and conditions. + Ensure compliance with construction timelines, costs, and materials as per contract terms and conditions. + Provide technical guidance and training to junior staff and review their work. + Document deficiencies, expected cost overruns, materials issues, and other construction-related risks. + Prepare related reports such as monthly progress reports. + Maintain a daily report of construction activities. + Communicate construction issues to project leadership. + Escalate issues to appropriate design staff for resolution. + Communicate issue resolution to construction staff and close the loop with project leadership once issues are resolved. Essential Skills + 2+ years of experience in construction observation, construction inspection, or construction management. + Ability to read construction plans. + Proficiency in MS Office. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience on water treatment or wastewater plant projects is a plus. + Experience working on piping replacement or repair projects for municipalities. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $45.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
