Job Description
Position Summary:
The Field Application Scientist (FAS) – Cell Culture & Cell Therapy (CCCT) is part of the BioProduction Group (BPG), working closely with biopharmaceutical R&D and cell culture process (USP) development teams at customer sites to drive technical engagement that supports business growth. Reporting to the BPG FAS Leader in Korea, the FAS leads Media Development Services (MDS) and new cell culture product initiatives to accelerate short-term revenue, build a strong pipeline for future opportunities, and maintain strategic customer relationships. Based in Seoul, the role involves regular interaction with customers through meetings, calls, and email.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain and improve technical knowledge on cell culture product portfolio.Leverage key account strategy for Media Development Services (MDS) and new cell culture-related products.Provide pre- or post-sales product support and resolve product performance complaints.Collaborate with US R&D and APAC teams for strategic approaches.Conduct internal training for onboarding and align strategy with cross functions.Lead Knowledge Culture Seminars (KCSs) to accelerate technical engagement.
Qualifications:
Master's degree or higher in a life science-related field, such as Biology, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Immunology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or Engineering.Excellent oral and written communication skills are required, with a savvy use of all Microsoft products.Ability to interface efficiently at all levels of an organization.Good judgment, tact, and subtlety in managing customer relationships.Handle confidential information with sensitivity.Self-motivated, passionate, positive demeanor, and a great teammate.
Experience:
8+ years in biopharma bioproduction; 10+ years preferred.Strong understanding of customer challenges and solution development.
Travel and Location:
This is a hybrid, field-based role based in Seoul, South Korea, with flexibility to work remotely, occasional attendance at the Seoul or Songdo office, and regular travel for customer visits.
