Fiber Room Associate

Prysmian is the world leader in the energy and telecom cable systems industry. Each year, the company manufactures thousands of miles of underground and submarine cables and systems for power transmission and distribution, as well as medium low voltage cables for the construction and infrastructure sectors. We also produce a comprehensive range of optical fibers, copper cables and connectivity for voice, video and data transmission for the telecommunication sector.

Shift:

3-2-2-3 Rotating

12 Hours Shift

Position Description:

Unload trucks and receive materials in SAP.Put away fiber/TB.Remove fiber/TB spools from pin-carts and/or boxes.Place the spool into fiber/TB storage bins or on carts as directed.Repackaging boxes/cases for recycling/removal.Pull fiber/TB for production orders.Remove the Fiber/TB Spool from the Bin and place it onto the cart/rack.Provide all required paperwork for the production operator, including cart sheets.Move the cart/rack of fiber/TB to the appropriate area.Select remakes, including tubes, fiber, and TB, as needed.Choose fiber/TB that results in minimal matching loss and returns.Issuing Strip and Rejacket paperworkTesting fiber/TB returnsMove return spools to the appropriate area; good/issues/etc.Perform cycle counts/inventories/audits as directed.Use a forklift, electric pallet jack, and tugger to move fiber racks and pallets.Other duties based on business needs.

Education:

Required: High School Diploma or GED

Experience:

· Service-oriented attitude

· Effective communication skills

Preferred:

· Experience in inventory control

· SAP experience

Skills/Attributes:

Demonstrated commitment to data integrityEffective time management skills and able to work with little supervisionAttention to detailFlexibility to adapt to changing priorities
