About this opportunity:
As a Fiber and IPRAN SME you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the resolution of Fiber and IPRAN infrastructure related issues, providing expert technical support, coordinating restoration activities, and ensuring the highest levels of network reliability and service continuity. This role combines deep technical knowledge of Fiber optic and IPRAN systems with strong incident management and communication skills to minimize downtime and customer impact.
What you will do:
• Serve as the primary technical expert for fiber and IPRAN network infrastructure support
• Perform Daily health check and Backups
• Analyse and resolve complex fiber and IPRAN transmission and connectivity issues
• Perform fault localization using Fiber Doctor, power meter, and OTDR Test
• Identify and resolve signal loss, breaks, or splicing of fiber faults
• Collaborate with field teams and subcontractors on identifying issues, root cause analysis and restoration activities.
• Handling performance reports, Review and Validates SLA for Fiber subcontractors and other Network operators
• Work with L3 support in case required and follow up on escalated incidents and ensure SLAs are met.
• Managing Optical power levels out of range, IPRAN links with High bandwidth utilization and coordinates with Planning team for improvement and implementation plan
• Plan for Fiber permanent repair activities where temporary repairs were implemented during fiber incidents and recommend for improvements plan
• Providing technical guidance and support to field technicians during installations, repairs, and troubleshooting
• Work with project team for new fiber and IPRAN nodes installation and connections
• Participate in scheduled maintenance windows and change management activities, conduct preventive maintenance and periodic testing of critical fiber and IPRAN routes, including Disaster recovery (DR)Tests
• Coordinate with civil works teams for trenching, ducting, and covering the open manholes
• Perform daily, Weekly and monthly reports
The skills you bring:
• University engineering degree in IT, Computer Sciences, Telecommunication, or related field
• Minimum of 5 years in Telecommunications
• Technical troubleshooting skills
• Communication skills
• Good writing and reporting skills.
• Good analytical reasoning for problems solving.
