Title:DeWitt Central FFA Assistant/Coach
REPORTS TO:FFA Advisor
Position Purpose:Responsible for supporting the FFA advisor with organizing the FFA program at the middle/high school level. The person holding this position assists with conducting ag skills and leadership development event practices, supervising chapter activities, and assisting the agricultural education/FFA program in developing students’ potential for premier leadership, personal growth, and career success.
Performance Responsibilities:
+ Must work and communicate well with high school aged kids
+ Must have a working understanding of agriculture and FFA
+ Must be proficient in Excel, Word, Google and Agriculture Experience Tracker (AET)
+ Will be required to type, proofread, create documents, spreadsheets, power points and make phone calls
+ Communicate with the FFA advisor on all FFA events and contact with FFA members
+ Help to prepare all students for FFA activities, events and contests
+ Assist with FFA activities, meetings, events and contests
+ Must be willing to transport students to and from FFA activities, events, conferences and contests (nights/weekends included)
+ Assist in the fundraising activities of the chapter
+ Attend district, state and/or national FFA convention as needed
+ Work with the FFA Boosters to help coordinate events, concessions, etc
+ Assist with county fair livestock weigh-ins/nominations/entries or other paperwork/projects related to the Clinton County Fair
+ Attend some portion of the Clinton County Fair and Iowa State Fair
+ Run errands for chapter/program and perform miscellaneous duties as they arise relating to AgEd/FFA.
Required QUALIFICATIONS:
+ 2-year degree (does not have to be ag related)
+ Experience in agricultural advocacy, agricultural leadership, agricultural production, and/or agricultural science
+ Working knowledge of FFA
Start Date:October-May evenings and/or weekends
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
