Position Summary
This position is responsible for safely operating machinery, managing product flow, and supporting feed mill operations while adhering to Tyson Foods’ policies, procedures, and safety standards. The Feed Mill Operator plays a key role in ensuring quality, accuracy, and efficiency in ingredient handling, feed production, and delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Operate machinery and equipment to unload feed ingredients and route to appropriate storage silos.Responsible for recording daily inventory of feed and ingredients, including on weekends. Accurately record data, operate scales, and document incoming ingredients using the ticketing system.Conduct quality analysis on incoming ingredients and maintain accurate inventory of feed bins.Perform minor maintenance using hand tools and assist in unloading ingredients as required.Safely operate loading equipment, verify feed type accuracy, and direct drivers to correct loading areas.Monitor production flow, adjust priorities, and adapt to scheduling demands throughout the day.Maintain housekeeping standards in service and work areas.Communicate effectively with all levels of operations, including customers and vendors, both orally and in writing.Follow all Tyson health, safety, and biosecurity protocols, including an agreement to avoid contact with avian species.Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Working Conditions

Ability to work in hot, dry, dusty, wet, or cold environments with heavy exposure to ingredient dust and inclement weather.Ability to work in elevated areas while following all safety procedures.Work may require holidays, weekends, and flexible hours based on production schedules.

Physical Requirements

Lift up to 60 lbs. regularly and up to 100 lbs. with assistance.Stand, walk, sit, climb ladders/stairs, and sustain physical activity throughout the shift.

Required Experience

3 Months of operator exp.

Preferred Experience

Prior feed mill or clerical experience preferred.Knowledge of DOT trucking procedures preferred.Basic computer and math skills.Strong organizational and prioritization abilities.Effective communication skills.Ability to multitask and remain flexible in a fast-paced environment.
