The Department of Pediatrics at the Robert Larner, M.D. College of Medicine is seeking an individual with expertise in translational cell and molecular biology for appointment as a Faculty Scientist. Candidates should hold a PhD degree or equivalent, with experience in the conduct of laboratory-based investigations in cell and molecular biology, ideally in a cancer-related field.
Responsibilities: The Faculty Scientist will perform a variety of research and/or laboratory tasks and experiments under general supervision. They will analyze data, recording the results and conclusions of laboratory experiments. They will assist in the establishment of experimental protocols. This position is tied to the Heath Lab research program. Research in the Heath Lab focuses on the molecular underpinnings of high risk leukemias. The lab is most interested in questions that are relevant to pediatric and adolescent leukemia and has a specific interest in acute leukemia characterized by the CALM -AF10 chromosomal translocation.
