JLL is currently seeking a Facility Operations Manager, responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair operations within Ottawa, ON (Kanata) client sites. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, clients, and stakeholders. The Facility Operations Manager will play a critical role in ensuring optimal facility performance, high-quality maintenance services, and client satisfaction.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Provide strategic leadership for maintenance operations while ensuring compliance with JLL policies, regulatory requirements, health and safety standards, and supporting various audits (ISO, EHS, asset systems).
Develop and implement strategies to optimize facility performance, including preventive maintenance programs to prolong asset lifespan, minimize downtime, and enhance operational efficiency.
Oversee delivery of maintenance services, ensuring high-quality service, compliance with standards, and adherence to SLAs while conducting regular site inspections to identify maintenance needs.
Monitor vendor/contractor performance through KPIs and metrics while implementing continuous improvement initiatives and maintaining data accuracy and documentation integrity.
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand maintenance needs, align activities with client requirements, and foster positive working relationships with all parties.
Manage customer satisfaction, discuss recommended program changes and their financial impact, while working with operations teams on results and expectations.
Support budget development and management for maintenance operations, tracking expenses and identifying cost optimization opportunities.
Manage technical staff including hiring, training, and development while directing Engineers, Planner/Schedulers, and contractors to prioritize duties aligned with client/JLL goals.
Respond to emergency calls and provide on-site support as required to manage work efforts effectively.
Support project development, continuous consultation, commissioning, and stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in facility maintenance.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
5+ years experience in property management, maintenance operations, and leadership roles with specific experience in critical site/Data Center operations.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facility Management, or related field, with industry certifications from IFMA, BOMA, AFE, or AAMP preferred.
Additional certifications in specialized areas such as HVAC, electrical, mechanical, refrigeration systems, process controls, mechanical power transmissions, plumbing, or engine repair, plus any certifications/licenses required by local or state/provincial jurisdictions.
Strong background in building maintenance with excellent understanding of maintenance principles, methodologies, and best practices.
Strong technical knowledge of building systems, preventive maintenance, and safety regulations.
Knowledge of Reliability Centered Maintenance principles and Root Cause Analyses.
Strong leadership and management skills with demonstrated ability to drive strategic initiatives and develop high-performing teams.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills enabling effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
Ability to travel within Canada as well as the US.
