The Facility Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of building operations and maintenance to ensure a safe, functional, and efficient workplace environment. This role requires a detail-oriented professional who can balance day-to-day operational needs while implementing strategic facility improvements.
Key ResponsibilitiesOversee daily facility operations including building systems, maintenance, cleaning, security, and space managementDevelop and implement preventative maintenance programs to extend asset life and reduce operational costsManage vendor relationships and service contracts to ensure quality service delivery within budgetCoordinate workplace modifications, renovations, and relocation projectsEnsure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulationsDevelop and manage facility operating budgets and capital expenditure plansRespond to emergency situations and implement appropriate protocolsLead and develop the facility management team including technicians and support staffImplement sustainability initiatives to reduce environmental impact and operating costsMaintain accurate records of building systems, warranties, and maintenance activitiesQualificationsBachelor's degree in Facility Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field7+ years of experience in facility management or related rolesKnowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire/life safety)Experience with facility management software and CMMS systemsStrong understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulationsExcellent project management, communication, and leadership skillsProblem-solving abilities with a customer-focused approachProfessional certification (FMP, CFM, or similar) preferredSkillsStrategic planning and budget managementContract negotiation and vendor managementTeam leadership and developmentCrisis management and problem resolutionTechnical knowledge of building operationsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsThis position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the workplace environment while developing expertise across multiple operational disciplines.
