What You'll Do:  

As Facility Maintenance Technician Provide support to the LFE Midland management, production and office staff.  This position is to provide a supporting role for all facility and manufacturing maintenance in cooperation and alignment with production blending, packaging and shipping activities. This individual is expected to be cross trained in all aspects of facility and operations maintenance.  Accountable to Lubrizol’s Integrated management system, security and safety compliance. 

 

What Will Be Your Environment:  

The Midland, Michigan Plant is just 30 minutes from Saginaw and located closely to Lake Huron. We produce Specialty gas compression lubricants, Vacuum pump lubricants, Industrial functional fluids including hydraulic oil, gear oil, and chain oil with a team of 200 employees.   

 

What We're Looking For: 

Safety and Compliance: Coordinate safety training with management, including forklift and dock lock operations, ensuring all equipment meets OSHA guidelines through routine maintenance and inspections. Emphasize environmental health, safety performance, and strict adherence to Lock out/Tag out, Hot work, and confined space procedures.  Quality Assurance: Handle products with care, maintain hygiene and first aid standards, and ensure all building and grounds equipment is well-maintained. Coordinate repairs and preventative maintenance programs, ensure standard operating procedures are followed, and maintain a clean and orderly work area.  Process and Equipment Maintenance: Operate and maintain pump skid and bulk valves, fork trucks, and other production equipment. Perform emergency repairs and apply mechanical skills for troubleshooting and repair, including mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.  Technical Support and Improvement: Assist operations teams with daily plant activities, apply mechanical and technical skills for plant improvement projects, and troubleshoot plant problems. Coordinate with vendors and contractors and identify opportunities for process improvement.  Documentation and Coordination: Maintain system documentation for all standard and safety-critical preventative tasks, ensure adherence to the Maintenance Work Order program, and coordinate repairs and maintenance with selected contractors and production staff. 

 

Skills That Make a Difference: 

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent  Willingness to learn and be trained in industrial tasks  Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral/written)  Ability to complete tasks independently to a high standard and without direct supervision 

 

Considered a Plus: 

Vocational or Associate’s Degree level education in technical or trade fields  Prior maintenance, mechanical, or industrial experience  Forklift experience  Pipe fitting experience  Welding experience  Knowledge of pumping operations, tank operations and filtration equipment  Completion of a craft apprenticeship. Electrical, HVAC, Welding, etc.  SAP experience 

 

Working Conditions: 

Ability to lift and handle objects weighing up to 70 lbs with assistance  M-F, 8 hour day shift, with willingness to support 24/7 operations.  Requires use of PPE   Comfortable working at moderate heights (ladders, lift, scaffolding, tank & mezzanine areas) <25ft.
