From community health clinics and the courthouse to detention facilities, office spaces, landscaped grounds, and parking areas, this role ensures our buildings and systems serve the community safely and efficiently every day. The Facilities Supervisor provides leadership for a diverse team of trades professionals, coordinates preventive and corrective maintenance programs, and oversees projects ranging from routine repairs to large-scale improvements. This position plays a vital role in ensuring our facilities remain safe, functional, and welcoming to employees, community members, and visitors. What You’ll Do As the Facilities Supervisor, you will: + Lead & Supervise : Provide day-to-day leadership for facilities staff, including trades professionals ( e.g. Electricians, Maintenance Specialists, and Exterior Team members ). Prioritize and schedule work, monitor performance, support training, and ensure a safe, respectful workplace. + Responsibility for Operations : Direct and coordinate planned and unplanned repairs, preventive maintenance programs, and response to urgent facility needs. + Ensure Safety & Compliance : Maintain compliance with OSHA standards, building codes, and environmental regulations. Promote a safety-first culture and investigate incidents to improve practices in conjunction with the County Safety Analyst. + Manage Budgets & Resources : Will have full responsibility for developing and executing division budget, preparing cost estimates, monitoring budgets, and maximizing resources while balancing short-term repair needs with long-term efficiency goals. + Customer Service & Collaboration : Partner with departments, contractors, and community stakeholders to deliver responsive service and ensure facilities meet operational needs. + Continuous Improvement : Contribute to setting construction and maintenance standards, propose efficiency improvements, and stay current with industry best practices. + Decision Making : Lead the division with a high level of autonomy, making operational decisions and helping shape strategies for efficient and effective facilities operations. + Operational Standards : Adhere to all federal, state, local, and Lane County Board of Commissioner operational guidelines and requirements. + Procurement: Facilitate purchase orders and contracts, audit and approve invoice vouchers, and procurement card activity related to program needs. About the Division The mission of Lane County's Capital Planning work group is to maximize limited resources in effectively managing and improving the County’s diverse portfolio of facilities. Schedule: Monday – Friday 7:30am – 4:30pm, nights and weekends as needed. *There is some flexibility in the daily scheduled hours. *This is a non-represented position* QUALIFICATIONS Educa tion & Experience: + Eight years of education and/or experience in facilities maintenance, upkeep, or a specialized maintenance or construction trade, including one year of experience in a supervisory, management, or leadership role; or a combination sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the position. Licensing Requirements: + Oregon Driver's License + Licensure or certification related to the area assigned Special Requirements: + Criminal background investigation and security clearance as required. + Possession of a valid Oregon driver’s license at the time of appointment.
