As a Facilities Quality Coordinator at Micron Technology, Inc. in Boise, Idaho, you will be responsible for utilizing your mechanical, industrial, and engineering skills to improve defined quality metrics for the department, coach others in improved methods of quality control and assurance and be a change agent for driving a quality culture.
**Responsibilities and Tasks:**
+ Represent the voice of quality in department meetings, aggressively challenging behaviors that don’t fit into a quality culture.
+ Work with department leadership to establish a roadmap for raising the awareness of quality in the department. Represent the leadership team in driving these efforts.
+ Meet frequently with site quality department representatives to ensure alignment with site initiatives and share best-known methods (BKM) experience with other departments.
+ Ensure that tribal knowledge is properly documented to benefit all in the department.
+ Instill a “5-Why method” and true 8D for deviation sourcing culture among the team through training and mentoring.
+ Highlight individual team member success to provide recognition and encourage good practices.
+ Promote a quality-conscious culture within your sphere of influence.
**Event Management:**
+ Apply 8D treatment to all SAP events with the goal of closing out with true root cause and preventative actions within 60 days of the start of the event.
+ Own all aspects of Global Problem-Solving System (GPSS) events, ensuring all are treated and closed within the allotted time.
**Performance Monitoring:**
+ Understand quality trends and create a robust database of quality metrics. Report on these metrics at executive and weekly meetings.
+ Host monthly quality area meetings with the Facilities management team to share trends and suggestions for improvement.
+ Manage the quality review at each fiscal year half planning session, driving continuous improvement.
**Local and Global Collaboration:**
+ Serve as the direct line of communication with the global facilities quality team on lessons learned (root cause of events), regular meetings, and metrics sharing.
+ Collaborate with all site Area Quality Champions (AQCs) at the Boise site on lessons learned, program effectiveness evaluations, and regular meetings. Conduct GPSS audits/scoring in-house to ensure GPSSs follow standards held by global quality.
+ Interact with Global Quality on major GPSS scoring and mentoring.
**Minimum Qualifications:**
+ Must have previous experience in a Quality Coordination role
+ Must have previous experience in mechanical and/or industrial engineering
+ Strong attention to detail
+ Strong analytical skills
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Preferred facilities experience
+ Experience in the semiconductor industry
+ Effective communication skills
