Facilities Maintenance Technician

What this job involves – The Maintenance Technician provides support for assigned buildings. This role has responsibilities which include preventive maintenance (PM), emergency response, general maintenance, carpentry, painting, plumbing systems, and HVAC systems. The Maintenance Technician must be able to perform the repair, maintenance, restoration, and replacement of various building operational components independently and with team support.

What is your day to day?  

Follow all safety policies and procedures, maintains strict attention to detail when working on job sitesPerformance of ongoing preventive and repair work orders on facility mechanical, electrical, plumbing and other installed systems, equipment, and componentsUtilizes CMMS work order system to manage the timely completion of all preventative and corrective maintenance assignmentsRepair/Replace/Install ceiling tiles, carpet tiles, floor tile, etcMinor plumbing includes unclogging drains, water leaks, etcMinor HVAC including filter and belt change, etcMinor electrical including lamp replacement, etcPerform assigned facility rounds and due diligence efforts by being proactive; reporting on conditions impacting satisfactory client occupancy and operations; entering work orders for resolutionBe a member of the operations team in the maintenance and repair of building components and equipmentProvide best-in-class customer services to all tenants and agenciesRecognize danger and safety hazards and propose methods to eliminate themEscorting vendors onsite to perform routine preventative maintenance or repairs Must be willing and able to support any after-hours building-related activity as requiredEnsure that work is performed efficiently with a minimum amount of disruption and inconvenienceMaintains a clean and safe working environmentMust complete all required safety trainings as scheduled and on timeOther tasks as assigned

Required experience and technical skills  

High school diploma or GED equivalentMinimum of one year of applicable working experience in general building repair and maintenance, and basic carpentry, plumbing and electricalCompletion of an applicable technical training program, desirableExperience with hand tools and power toolsProficient in basic computer application software such as MS Office, Outlook, CMMS, etc
