**Job Summary:**
The Facilities Maintenance Leader will effectively oversee the maintenance activities and personnel within a designated area, focusing on employee development, supporting business needs, and ensuring plant operations run smoothly, treating production as the primary client. This role is responsible for the operation and compliance of water systems (including softened, demineralized, and USP water) critical to pharmaceutical and oral care products. The supervisor will ensure specification compliance, manage documentation, respond to audits, and collaborate closely with various teams to ensure excellence in safety, quality, and productivity.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Lead and develop the maintenance team, ensuring safety guidelines are followed, risks are identified, and "Near Miss" incidents are reported and resolved.
+ Oversee the operation of water treatment systems, guaranteeing compliance with all specifications, record-keeping, and managing corrective actions as necessary.
+ Coordinate and authorize work permits, ensure all certifications are current, and manage safety walkthroughs and closure of findings.
+ Supervise and perform maintenance activities in alignment with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and quality procedures.
+ Identify, report, and resolve equipment anomalies; track and analyze equipment failures and implement new technologies.
+ Manage maintenance budgets, control departmental expenses, and recommend operating and capital budgets.
+ Lead cost-reduction and innovation initiatives; contribute to strategic planning and coordinate compliance with FP&R productivity standards.
+ Prepare for and participate in internal, corporate, and governmental audits (Cofepris, FDA), ensuring all requirements are met.
+ Organize and lead cross-functional meetings related to water systems, review specification changes, and implement necessary solutions.
+ Oversee personnel administration including attendance, leave, annual medical exams, and training programs.
**Required Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences (QFB), Electrical Engineering, or related field.
+ 2-3 years of experience in water process management within the pharmaceutical sector.
+ Advanced English proficiency (capable of effective communication with US auditors).
+ Demonstrated experience with water demineralization, softened water, USP water processes, and handling FDA audits.
+ Knowledge of maintenance best practices, budget control, and personnel administration.
**Desired Qualifications:**
+ Experience with SAP and Microsoft Office; programming knowledge is a plus.
+ Strong leadership, teamwork, and organizational skills, with proven ability to coordinate across departments and manage priorities.
+ Exposure to project management and innovation in manufacturing or water treatment processes.
+ Familiarity with compliance to quality standards in multinational or export-oriented environments.
