Facilities Maintenance Coordinator

The Facilities Management department develops, manages, maintains, repairs, and remodels the headquarters infrastructure and facilities, manages energy usage, provides safety and physical security and other services required to support its mission. 

Under limited supervision, the Facilities Coordinator serves as a multi-skilled, multi-craft technician who works independently and uses judgement to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment and building systems. 

The Coordinator performs ongoing inspections and timely repairs to electrical, plumbing, HVAC equipment, refrigeration, kitchen, mechanical and lighting equipment and fixtures. They are capable of these tasks and operate and maintain facilities equipment and Building Management System in an efficient manner to provide a safe and comfortable environment for employees at the property.

The Facilities Coordinator is involved with facility safety, including modifications and reactive situations as they arise, including managing safety permits required, maintaining city and state codes, and the company’s safety policies for the building. They maintain and repair fire and safety equipment and also assist with implementing facility safety programs.

The Coordinator provides administrative assistance to maintain various databases used by Facilities management, including database updates and Facilities SharePoint page.

The Facilities Coordinator may be on-call and perform additional duties and special projects as assigned. 

Job Duties

Performs ongoing inspections and timely repairs to electrical, plumbing, lighting, and HVAC equipment, including outside contractor coordination and supervision.

Utilizes HVAC economizers and keeps in proper working condition.  Stages equipment usage to maintain low peak demand costs.

Maintains current inspection and permit requirements.

Supervises work assignments and provides training for the Facilities Technician.

Assists with implementing company safety and facility safety programs.

Completes assigned special projects related to the Kansas City office, including office moves, concrete replacement, major equipment replacement, etc.

Provides backup to other department functions as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum:

High school diploma or equivalent5 years of facilities maintenance experience3 years of experience in printingExperience with general repairs for office building equipment and fixturesExperience operating heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipmentExperience in refrigeration, electrical and mechanical repairsExperience with emergency generator and transfer switch testingExperience with kitchen equipment repairsTroubleshooting experience with low and high voltage circuits

Preferred:

Technical training or Associates degreeCFC Universal certificationTrade school courses in electricity, air conditioning and refrigeration
