EAC Network, a not-for-profit social service agency that empowers, assists, and cares for over 70,000 people in need through 120 programs across Long Island and NYC, seeks a Facilities & Fleet Operations Manager to work full time for its Operations Department.
+ Wage:$38 to $40 per hour
+ Hours:8am to 4pm, or 9am to 5pm Monday through Friday
+ Location:99 Quentin Roosevelt Blvd in Garden City (This role will require traveling to our different sites).
+ Reports to:Director of Operations
Primary Purpose of Job:
The Facilities and Fleet Operations Manager will oversee the maintenance and functionality of more than 20 locations across New York City and Long Island, as well as manage the organization’s vehicle fleet.
The role includes performing and overseeing light facility maintenance, coordinating vendor services, ensuring compliance and safety, and supporting program needs through effective fleet and facility operations.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
+ Perform basic hands-on maintenance (e.g., HVAC monitoring, minor electrical and plumbing repairs).
+ Respond to facility issues reported by site staff and ensure timely resolution, either directly or through vendors.
+ Coordinate with senior leadership and contractors on repairs, improvements, and space readiness.
+ Develop and execute preventative maintenance programs for facilities and vehicles.
+ Research and engage with vendors; obtain and compare competitive bids as needed.
+ Conduct and document regular inspections to maintain safe, functional, and compliant facilities.
+ Oversee fleet maintenance schedules, inspections, and timely registration renewals.
+ Maintain detailed records of repairs, inspections, vendor agreements, and equipment logs.
+ Support internal departments by ensuring facilities and fleet needs align with program delivery.
+ Utilize a cargo vehicle or reimbursed personal vehicle for travel between sites.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required:
+ Proven experience in facility and/or fleet management, preferably in nonprofit, educational, or social service sectors.
+ Skilled in troubleshooting and repairing basic HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
+ Familiarity with managing both owned and leased office/facility space.
+ Strong project management, organizational, and prioritization skills.
+ Effective written and verbal communication across all levels of staff and external partners.
+ Physically able to lift and transport equipment and tools.
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
+ Self-motivated with strong critical thinking and decision-making abilities.

+ Valid NY driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle (mileage reimbursed).
+ Access to personal tools is required; a maintenance vehicle will be available for use
