Position Overview:
The Facilities Engineer is a key role for the business. Assess asset health and create plans to effectively maintain / upgrade site facilities & equipment. Maintain contractor control & ensure all site work is completed in a safe manner and in accordance with site rules.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct duties with the highest standard of health & safety, quality and housekeeping.Manage contractor personnel onsite ensuring that the company rules and safety legislation are adhered to at all times. Act as an ambassador for the business when dealing with 3rd party vendors, portraying the highest level of professionalism at all times.Liaise with internal departments to plan in statutory inspections & maintenance works ahead of time.Lead in the development of preventative maintenance plans for the department and be instrumental in the transition to a CMMS methodology.Ensure that all internal preventative maintenance duties are completed on time by the team & any follow-up work is planned in & completed in a timely fashion.Perform ‘On-Call’ response & support for Facilities based out-of-hours issues as required to cover business needs.React to unplanned facilities-based breakdowns & actions in a timely manner.Provide guidance & mentorship to the wider team where appropriate.Contribute skills & experience in the implementation of capital projects within the department & wider engineering team.Analyse technical problems & develop appropriate solutions.Keep abreast of legislative changes & areas of responsibility for the department. Actively seek to reduce business costs & implement cost-saving initiatives.Act as a deputy for the department in occasions of absence of the Manager.Work effectively within a diverse, cross functional group.
