The Facilities Engineer, Gas Compression Project Manager will report to the FE Green Field Projects Manager in Argentina and will be responsible for leading engineering coordination and project execution for the Unconventional Production Development program of El Trapial Field. The position will be oriented mostly to Gas compression projects.
Will be responsible as Project Manager for the coordination of the Engineering Contractor for technical review of basic and detailed engineering deliverables from vendors and construction contractor, interface with corporate Shale & Tight Standard Design for endorsement of the facilities design. Key interfaces include Green Field Development, Brownfield Plant Improvements, Systems Completion, QAQC and Operations Compression.
**Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:**
+ Serve as Company representative in the role of Project Manager with design contractor and construction contractor for the scope of the assigned projects.
+ Coordinate the Engineering Contractor for technical review of basic and detailed engineering deliverables and interface with corporate Shale & Tight Standard Design for endorsement of the facilities design.
+ Oversee project execution scope including construction contract definition and lead the contracting process with support of Supply Chain (SCM).
+ Provide leadership in solving difficult technical problems and demonstrate a high level of competence/proficiency in disciplines within area of responsibility.
+ Coordinate and track the scopes for contracting/purchasing equipment that are provided by the company, and lead for their supply on time according to the construction plan.
+ Contribute significantly to planning and completion of annual programs including the creation of new opportunities during all project phases.
+ Manage project execution and interface with the field construction team.
+ Coordinate the Contractor for conduction of HAZOPS and interface with Process Safety Reliability and Integrity (PSRI) Coordinator and Safety Design Engineers for assurance of a safe design.
+ Identify and resolve engineering deviations; contribute to Management of Change (MOC) processes.
+ Coordinate vendors and technical training for covering the facilities and equipment involved in the facilities scope during the execution phase.
**Required Qualifications**
We are seeking a highly skilled professional with the following qualifications:
+ **Education** : Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Process Engineering.
+ **Experience** : Minimum of 10 years in upstream Oil & Gas projects, with a strong background in project management, execution schedules, budgeting, and resource planning.
+ **Communication** : Fluent in English (written and oral), with strong communication and negotiation skills to align engineering contractors, vendors, and operations teams.
+ **Leadership** : Proven experience leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams and coordinating vendors, engineering, and construction contractors.
+ **Project Management** :
+ Ability to identify project risks early and implement effective mitigation strategies.
+ Skilled in managing scope changes, technical deviations, and maintaining documentation traceability.
+ Proficiency in planning tools for tracking milestones and critical paths.
+ **Technical Expertise** :
+ In-depth understanding of reciprocating and centrifugal compressors, dehydration units, and associated process equipment.
+ Ability to interpret P&IDs, datasheets, and vendor packages for compression systems.
+ Familiarity with industry standards (API, ASME, IEC) and local environmental and safety regulations.
+ **Safety & Commissioning** :
+ Experience coordinating HAZOPs, PSSRs, and ensuring safe commissioning and startup procedures.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Project Management or Engineering Management certifications.
+ Track record of successful coordination of engineering and construction contractors for Oil & Gas Projects.
+ Experience in Lean Construction practices and integration of digital twin platforms in design and commissioning.
+ Exposition Gas Compression Facilities for the Vaca Muerta Shale in Argentina.
**Special Considerations:**
+ Based in Buenos Aires at Chevron’s CEL (Centro Empresarial Libertador) office.
+ Frequent travel to El Trapial Field is required for construction inspections, commissioning, startup support, and integration with operating teams.
**Relocation Options:**
Relocation **is not** offered for this role. Only local candidates will be considered.
