Boeing’s Enterprise Services organization is currently looking for a Facilities Controls Engineer to join our Global Real Estate & Facilities (GREF) team located in North Charleston, South Carolina. Our team is hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Experienced or Senior Specialists.

This role primarily supports the Boeing South Carolina site’s facilities operations, equipment maintenance, reliability engineering, and future site development. This role will partially support Ridley Park, PA; Huntsville, AL and Heath, OH sites with up to 15% travel.

In this role, you will support enhancements to site infrastructure, with emphasis on Building Automation Systems, industrial environmental controls and lighting controls. You will have the opportunity to work with an exceptional facilities operation, contribute to the enterprise GREF Engineering team, and collaborate with colleagues from various technical backgrounds.

This position troubleshoots reactive equipment downtime events; develops plans for equipment improvements, including preventative maintenance; administrates building automation systems; integrates with internal and business customers; and manages special projects related to equipment modifications and new asset commissioning.

Position Responsibilities:

Evaluate program and project requirements, develop complex equipment concepts and design solutions for the buildings and infrastructure

Identify automation or technology recommendations and system integration for equipment

Identify appropriate materials, equipment, and services by applying engineering principles and methodology

Administrate all building software systems ensuring uptime and lifecycle planning

Provide maintenance support for the electrical and mechanical phases of buildings, equipment installations, utility systems and grounds

Ensure compliance with safety, producibility, maintainability, reliability, ergonomic factors and regulatory requirements

Develop and implement work-arounds and maintains configuration of hardware, software and documentation

Develop moderate to complex conceptual analysis to determine the cause of asset failures and reduction in asset capacity by using reliability tools and methods (e.g., life cycle analysis, condition based maintenance, root cause failure methodology, mean time between failures, fault tree analysis, etc.)

Assist in the creation of contract scope

Validate contractual performance milestones, maintain configuration control, conduct reviews, prepare plans for productions readiness, preventative maintenance, and spares

Provide input to strategic, short-term, and long-term infrastructure planning; complete studies; analyze current conditions and future requirements; recommend capital improvements; gather and analyze data; and work with both internal and external customers in order to identify and assess alternatives and impacts

May be required to perform other job-related duties as assigned

Position requires up to 15% travel

Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience):

Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, electrical or chemistry or technical degree

5+ years of experience with building electrical and mechanical systems

3+ years of experience working in a facilities engineering role within a manufacturing or industrial environment

3+ years of experience with controls software for building systems (Allen Bradley, Trane, Honeywell, NLight, Payne Sparkman, etc.)

Experience with Bluebeam

Ability to travel 15%

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

Degree in the following disciplines: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Robotics Engineering

Level 4: 9+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Level 3: 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

9+ years of experience maintaining facilities equipment

​5+ years of experience with PLC (programmable logic control) hardware

5+ years of experience with equipment reliability or machine troubleshooting

5+ years of experience supporting crane systems

5+ years of experience supporting building lighting controls

5+ years of experience supporting building environmental controls

5+ years of experience modifying computer programs

Experience with AutoCAD and Revit software.

Summary Pay Range for Experienced Level: $96,050 - $129,950

Summary Pay Range for Senior Level: $112,220 - $151,800
