Behind the scenes, our Distribution Centres are where the action really happens – and we’re on the lookout for a reliable, hands-on Facilities Security Team Member to help keep things moving, secure, and in top shape at our South Island Distribution Centre.
Job DescriptionAbout the Role:
This is a varied and physical role that sits at the core of our facilities operations. You’ll be responsible for maintaining the safety and security of our site while also supporting daily operational tasks. From monitoring site access and completing regular facility checks, to operating forklifts and managing recycling equipment, no two days are the same – and you’ll be working alongside a supportive, tight-knit team that keeps our DC running like clockwork.
This role is Monday to Friday 4pm to 12.30am
Key responsibilities include:
Monitoring and managing site access, including vehicle control at the gatehouse
Performing regular site patrols and maintaining strong visibility across the premises
Operating and monitoring CCTV systems and other security equipment
Logging, tracking, and reporting incidents or maintenance issues using internal systems
Conducting routine facilities inspections and escalating maintenance or safety concerns
Supporting our sustainability goals by managing cardboard and polystyrene balers
Operating forklifts to assist with general logistics and recycling
Providing responsive general site support across the facilities and operations teams
QualificationsWhat we’re looking for:
Proven experience in facilities, security, or asset protection roles
Strong situational awareness and a confident, proactive approach to safety and security
Experience with CCTV systems and familiarity with vehicle and gatehouse control protocols
Ability to perform regular site patrols and respond to security concerns
Basic computer literacy is essential – including logging, reporting, and monitoring systems
A current OSH forklift licence and experience operating forklifts (or willingness to obtain)
Clear communicator with a calm and professional manner under pressure
Physically fit and able to carry out the demands of a hands-on role
