Job Purpose

BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for “dynamic, results driven” individual to join as a Facilities and Construction Project Engineer (Contractor).

This role will be responsible for facilities engineering and construction project management. The engineer will enhance and improve the infrastructure systems while leading capital projects and renovations across the Indiana Technical Center campus. The role supports engineering operations, lab readiness, and strategic initiatives and ensures compliance with environmental, safety, and energy standards. This role is critical to enabling product development, testing, and innovation activities across multiple engineering domains. This role reports directly to the Site Facilities Manager

Key Responsibilities

Facilities EngineeringCollaborate with product engineering and validation teams to ensure facility readiness for new programs and testing protocolsSupervise external contractors supporting Facility work at the siteMaintain documentation for facility layouts and facility equipment specificationsEnsure compliance with ISO 14001, OSHA, VDA TISAZ, IATF 16949 standards including BorgWarner’s global facility standardsSupport sustainability initiatives and energy efficiency improvements that support ISO 50001Construction Project EngineeringManage construction and renovation projects including lab expansions, infrastructure upgrades, office reconfigurations and coordination of external contractorsEnsure compliance with safety, environmental, and building codesProvide project management for scope changes related to lab infrastructure and engineering support.Develop project scopes, budgets, schedules, and resource plans for projectsCoordinate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure timely and compliant execution.Apply BorgWarner’s Facility Design Guidelines for site selection, building systems, and sustainabilityOversee construction quality, safety, and adherence to local codes and corporate standardsProvide engineering support for capital investment planning and execution

What We Are Looking For

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Industrial Engineering10+ years of experience in facilities or construction project engineering, preferably in an automotive technical center or R&D environmentStrong understanding of building systems, lab infrastructure, and construction managementExperience managing capital projects and facility upgradesExperience with CAD tools, facility management software, and project scheduling toolsKnowledge of ISO 14001, IATF 16949, ISO 50001 and OSHA standardsExcellent communication, project management, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills
