Face-to-Face Fundraising Area Manager - West Midlands/Worcestershire

As a Face-to-Face (F2F) Fundraising Area Manager, you'll lead and inspire a team of membership fundraisers based primarily in the West Midlands with coverage across Shropshire and Worcestershire and this wider vibrant area. Your leadership will play a crucial role in meeting ambitious fundraising targets while upholding the highest standards in ethical fundraising.

As well as line managing a direct team of up to 8 fundraisers, you'll work closely with RSPB reserves within your geographical area and lead on National Shows at the NEC to maximise membership opportunity for the RSPB. 

Please note that, given the travel associated with the role, applicants will require a valid driver's licence, or be able to demonstrate how they would reach all corners of this area and be well-placed to do so. 

This is a hands-on role supporting, coaching and motivating your team whilst also fundraising alongside them to lead by example.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Coaching: Recruit, train and develop a high-performing team of Fundraisers. Foster a positive team culture and lead by example to achieve fundraising targetsPerformance Management: Monitor KPIs including membership volume, average donation amounts, Gift Aid uptake and attrition rates. Conduct regular reviews and provide coaching to continuously improve performance Operational Oversight: Manage the day-to-day logistics of your team, ensuring compliance with fundraising regulations and alignment with RSPB values Relationship Building skills: Build effective partnerships with key stakeholders outside of the F2F Team, including Reserve Managers, to maximise membership opportunity. Travel and Flexibility: Regular travel across the West Midlands and wider Midlands area (and occasionally nationally) is required. A full UK driving licence, or the ability to demonstrate how you will travel to remote locations is essential. Weekend work will be expected as a core part of the role to support your team 

Essential skills, knowledge and experience:

Proven experience in face-to-face fundraising and managing high performing teamsStrong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop team membersExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsKnowledge of ethical fundraising practices and relevant codesAbility to plan, organise and juggle competing prioritiesComfortable giving and receiving feedbackExperience with leadership frameworks such as SMART objectives, root cause analysis and situational leadership

Desirable traits:

Familiarity with the RSPB's mission and values is highly desirable.

Additional information

This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours per week. Weekend work will be expected to undertake the role successfully.
