Job Summary:

Internship could be from 6 – 24 weeks long depending on availability of service member and can commence within the final 180-days before a service member leaves active duty.

 

Responsibilities:

Provide support for in-house technology initiatives and on-going projects by academia and industry. Conduct routine and periodic maintenance, performs minor repairs, and conducts pre and post operational checks on a variety of equipment.Administratively coordinate outsourcing of fabrication to other organizations as needed/directed.Provide assistance to support in-house fabrication, modification, bench test, calibration and troubleshooting.Provide assistance to engineers with testing, maintenance and preparedness for operations involving multiple functions such as readiness, utilization, safety, and interagency coordination.Provide assistance with ad hoc test support projects, including field support and movement and liaisons with stakeholders in support of project assignments.Provide assistance machining on manual and CNC Mill and manual lathe.Good understanding and proper use of fabrication hand tools such as tap and dies, Dremel, files, calibrated measuring tools.Provide assistance with assembly and fabrication.Provide assistance to engineers.

 

Requirements:

Must be a US citizen.Must meet all eligibility requirements outlined in DOD Instruction 1322.29. Command approval via ZelTech, LLC SkillBridge Application.Official TAD/ TDY Orders to ZelTech, LLC for the period of the internship.Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner while maintaining a high degree of work quality.Ability to manage time and resources efficiently.Ability to present relevant factors (both verbal and written) so that technical information is understood by non-technical end users.Good interpersonal skills.Effective communicator.Works well independently or as part of a group.Degree of judgment and multi-tasking associated with performing job duties.Provide support on special projects as needed.

 

Preferred Requirements:

Knowledge of standard DoD acquisition regulations, practices, and procedures.Good writing skills, as there may be a requirement to write reports.

The work environment characteristics and physical demands described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

The majority of the time is spent in an office setting.Some periods of time may be spent in spaces for installation, testing, and troubleshooting.Must be able to work in, on, around, over and under equipment and machinery to manipulate equipment, tools, and supplies.Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance, vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus.Frequently required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and talk or hear.
