Fabrication Supervisor

Join our global team to grow your expertise and develop innovative solutions that enable a prosperous and more sustainable society.** **Your main tasks and responsibilities:** + Work closely with the Materials department, to ensure correct and adequate quantity of component parts are always available, to ensure timely and efficient execution of work orders. + Work closely with Manufacturing Engineering to ensure non-conformances are identified and acted upon in an expedient manner. Obtain and distribute work orders to track non-conformances rework, and close same upon completion. + Monitor workflow, and review priorities, to ensure work is completed in timely manner. + Maximize utilization and efficiency, and control labor variance, by ensuring overall skillset is correctly distributed amongst a variety of conflicting priority work tasks. + Recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality. + Develop programs to focus employees on improving fabricated product quality. + Investigate and implement welding improvement initiatives such as wire/gas etc. + Make recommendations for productivity and/or method improvements. + Ensure ISO guidelines are followed; follow Job Instruction Sheets and Tag Procedures etc. + Report discrepancies to the Planner or Manager. + Complete minor troubleshooting as required. + Complete and maintain paperwork as required. + Check equipment for defects and repair if necessary. + Lift work piece manually, by forklift or by overhead crane, positions and secures against guides and stops. + Maintains a clean work area, including his equipment, work supplies and materials. + Complies with Federal, State, and local occupational safety, environmental, health and Safety and air pollution control regulations including machine safety with all safety precautions recommended by Machine manufacturers. + Adhere to Sulzer safety standards of facility and actively participate in the company’s Safe Behavioral Program & Take 5. + Perform other duties and special projects as assigned. **To succeed in this role, you will need:** + **Required:** 2 years’ experience in supervising the metal fabrication shop related work comparable experience in other fields. + **Required: 10 years’ experience in machine & equipment maintenance** High School Degree or GED. + Strong mechanical aptitude and mathematical skills. + Understand and follow oral and written instructions. + Forklift or Crane license considered an asset. + Ability to understand lean manufacturing practices. + Experience in safe use, storage and disposal of Metal parts/wheels/cables & cleaning the work area etc. + Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws, codes and regulations pertaining to occupational safety, health, and air pollution control. + Experienced in using power and hand tools. + Meticulous and detail oriented. + Able to lift 50 pounds unassisted. + Able to read and understand blueprint for projects. **What we offer you:** + Competitive Paid Time Off (3 weeks to start) + 12 Company Paid Holidays per year + Annual Bonus Program + Full Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits + Company Paid Short Term and Long Term Disability, Company Paid Life Insurance + 6% 401K or Roth Company Match with Immediate Vesting + Company Paid Retirement Security Contributions following 1 year of employment + Tuition Reimbursement/Educational Assistance + Quarterly Gym Reimbursement **Do you have a question about the role?** **Sulzer is an equal opportunity employer.
