Fabrication Planning Engineer – 3D Modeling & Weld Visualization

Job Requirements
Develop and review 3D models and visual mock-ups of fabricated components using CAD software (Creo).Interpret and validate engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical prints for fabrication feasibility.Plan and prepare detailed fabrication process plans, including welding, machining, and assembly sequences.Evaluate and recommend appropriate weld parameters (e.g., voltage, current, speed, filler materials) for different joints and materials.Coordinate with design, quality, and shop-floor teams to align planning activities with project timelines and production goals.Identify and resolve design/fabrication conflicts during the planning phase.Support material take-off (MTO) and BOM generation for fabrication tasks.Assist in the optimization of jigs, fixtures, and tooling required for efficient fabrication.Participate in process audits and reviews to ensure adherence to fabrication standards and safety guidelines.
Work Experience
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related fields.3 -5 years' of relevant work experience.Strong proficiency in 3D CAD modeling and visualization - CreoExperience in Visualisation mock-up - Vis MockupSolid knowledge of technical drawing interpretation and GD&T principles.Good understanding of fabrication techniques, especially related to welding processes (GMAW, GTAW, SMAW, etc.).Working knowledge of weld symbols, procedures (WPS/PQR), and weld parameter settings.Experience in fabrication planning, routing, and shop-floor documentation.Familiarity with fabrication industry codes and standards (ASME, AWS, ISO).Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
