The opportunity

Strategy and Execution (S&E) - Financial Services (FSO) focuses on serving clients in the banking, insurance, asset management and FinTech sectors, which are highly regulated segments bringing more sector specific training and exposures. FSO works on the most complex high-profile global transactions advising some of the largest PE investors in FinTech domain.

We are a group of experienced industry professionals with a background in financial services industry and expertise in technology (FinTech Bank Business Model, Insurance products, Wealth and Asset Management Products, Payments Ecosystem, Currency Exchange, FinTech Product Diligence, etc.) who are serial transaction advisers, which enables us to bring a wealth of deep sector and functional knowledge to our clients. As a team, we prepare and execute separation and integration plans, identify ideas and sources of value enhancement, as well as advise on risk mitigation and the successful change of operations, functions, and people.  We position EY services on key transactions by proactively raising opportunities and providing valuable insights on deal targets across the FS sectors.

 

Your key responsibilities

As an Assistant Manager in Strategy and Execution – Financial Services, you will be a vital member of the team supporting and executing operational focused projects. You'll assist with the execution of projects in FinTech Services i.e.: Payments, Banking and Capital Markets (BCM), Insurance, and Wealth & Asset Management (WAM) supporting our client service team in developing and executing strategies for transactions.

Your role will involve developing experience across a range of different type of engagements, including pre-deal (e.g. operational and carve-out planning) and post-deal (e.g. integration planning, tracking).  The ideal candidates will have a good understanding of and interest in the FS sectors and key players in this industry and key emerging technologies in the FinTech sector.

 

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION: 

MBA / PGDM (part time / full time) with B. Tech. from a reputed institute with a technology background.   B Tech / M. Tech. candidates from reputed engineering institutes with a combination of business and technical exposure can also be considered 

 

SKILL REQUIREMENTS: 

Must Have 

Experience in transactions, including pre-deal (Operation Due Diligence) and/or or Post deal merger - integration, separation/carve-out assignments with exposure to managing areas such as Functional Cost Analysis, Cost Take-out, Cost Optimisation, Synergy Assessment, Proposal Building, Databook preparation. Demonstrate excellent skills in project execution including Day 1 readiness, cross functional workplans, interdependencies, Operating model, TSAs, problem-solving and facilitation Understanding of the Banking and Capital Markets sector and Wealth Management sector. Exposure to transactions and deal lifecycle from a consulting point of view. Support execution of the integration & separation projects while working to constantly identify areas for improvement, including resolving issues Manage client engagement teams executing Deal Management services which support key decision makers in developing and executing their transaction strategy to secure deal value Strong writing skills and experience of producing quality reports, papers, presentations and thought leadership  Experience in Operating model development in FinTech Industry (Banking, Insurance or Wealth & Asset Management). 

 

Good to Have 

Understanding of organizational processes such as Procure to Pay, Order to Cash and Record to Report  Experience in business development, from opportunity identification to developing new business with external clients  Willingness to undertake international travel as per business requirement Program and project management expertise with demonstrable experience in managing and being responsible for the delivery of successful programs German or any other language skills

 

 To qualify for the role, you must have  

5-8 years of prior experience with an IT Technology / Consulting organization or IT department of a large organization (technology background in financial services) B Tech / M. Tech. / MBA / PGDM (part time / full time) with B. Tech. from a reputed institute with a technology background.  

 

Ideally, you’ll also have 

Project management skills  Strong communication and presentation skills

Strong writing skills and experience of producing high quality reports, presentations and thought leadership Hands on expertise on Microsoft Office Tools such as Excel, Power Point and Word Willingness to travel on short notice whenever required Flexible with working locations, ability to learn quickly and leverage skills in new situations Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with building relationship with key stakeholders
