**The opportunity:**
As a Director in EY-Parthenon’s Strategy & Execution – Deal Technology practice focusing on Enterprise Reimagined, you will lead high-impact engagements that drive both cost optimization and top-line growth across complex transactions and corporate transformations. You will work with C-suite executives, private equity clients, and corporate leadership to identify, plan, and execute technology-driven strategies that optimize IT and operational costs while also accelerating revenue and digital innovation during mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and carve-outs as well as in non-transaction/transformation settings. This role blends deep IT expertise with strategic insight to deliver measurable value through cost transformation, digital enablement, operational efficiency, and tech-enabled growth initiatives.
**Key responsibilities:**
As a Director with EY-Parthenon's Strategy and Execution Deal Technology practice, you will lead value-creation technology projects that span cost optimization and growth enablement. You’ll guide clients through IT-focused strategies that enhance operational efficiency and unlock new revenue opportunities. Your role will involve advising senior stakeholders, collaborating across functions, and applying emerging technologies (AI, cloud, data analytics) to deliver measurable business impact. A strong commercial mindset and the ability to balance efficiency with innovation are essential to success in this role.

**To qualify, you must have:**
+ A bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 5 years of related work experience; or a graduate degree and approximately 3 years of related work experience.
+ Experience in management consulting, IT strategy, digital transformation, and transaction advisory.
+ Proven experience in cost optimization (e.g., Digital Transformation, IT synergy planning, post-merger integration or carve-out execution) _and_ in tech-driven growth initiatives (e.g., implementing a new digital product, scaling technology to increase revenue or market share).
+ Proven ability to drive transformation across multiple levers, from infrastructure optimization and applications rationalization to sourcing and governance, with measurable outcomes.
+ Ability to synthesize complex financial and operational data into clear, actionable insights; balanced cost efficiency with innovative tech-driven growth strategies.
+ Comprehensive understanding of IT cost structures – including TCO (total cost of ownership), shared services, outsourcing, and digital transformation levers and an ability to convert various technology/IT opportunities into dollar and financial impact.
+ Familiarity with digital product development, customer-facing technologies, and data analytics to advise on growth, i.e. ability to discuss a data center consolidation and a digital marketing platform implementation in the same conversation.
+ Expertise in a minimum of 4 of the following IT skillsets:
+ IT cost reduction and optimization
+ IT operating model transformation
+ Cloud strategy and migration
+ IT service management and Transition Service Agreement (TSA) development
+ Business process redesign and tech enabled business transformation including new capability rollouts such as CRM, ERP and HCM
+ Digital enablement (e.g., automation, advanced analytics)
+ Data & Business Intelligence strategy (e.g., building analytics capabilities, BI tools deployment for insights)
+ AI implementation (e.g., AI/ML solutions for business, process automation, AI strategy development)
+ IT outsourcing/offshoring and vendor management
+ Digital product or platform launch (technology support for new product rollouts or digital channels)
+ Experience in merger & acquisition contexts – e.g., involvement in IT due diligence, IT separation or integration projects, or identifying technology synergies in deals. Understanding deal timelines and how to realize value quickly in a deal timeline is critical.
+ Leadership & Soft Skills: Proven ability to lead teams and drive change. Excellent client-facing skills with experience advising senior executives. A track record of influencing decision-makers and driving initiatives to completion, especially where technology and business strategy intersect.
+ The ability and willingness to travel and work in excess of standard hours when necessary.
**Ideally, you’ll also have:**
+ An MBA or other relevant advanced degree, reflecting the strategic and cross-disciplinary nature of the role.
+ Further Technical Depth or Certifications: A proven record of excellence in IT mergers & acquisitions or similar transactions. Additional certifications (Agile, ITIL, PMP, Six Sigma, CISSP/CISA, or cloud certifications) that demonstrate rigorous training in managing technology projects and teams.
+ Emerging Tech Familiarity: Exposure to modern technology trends such as artificial intelligence (experience with tools like Microsoft Copilot or other AI platforms), IoT, or advanced data analytics in a business context. Being able to bring cutting-edge ideas to clients is a plus by assessing and prioritizing emerging technologies based on their cost-benefit impact across.
+ Industry Sector Knowledge: Experience in specific industries (e.g., finance, healthcare, manufacturing, etc.) can be a plus, especially if you have led tech value initiatives in those sectors. It aids in bringing context-specific insights for value creation.
+ Network & Thought Leadership: Established networking skills and a presence in the industry (e.g., speaking at conferences, publishing thought leadership on technology value creation). This signals passion and recognition in the field.

+ We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $205,000 to $235,000. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
