As a Consultant or Senior Consultant based in our Melbourne office, you'll help clients within the Financial Services industry develop, evaluate and confirm their capital and growth strategies based on informed viewpoints. You'll work with clients in areas such as strategic planning, financial, tax or regulatory reporting, and transactions, guiding them through valuation and business modelling implications to better understand the impact on their business.

 
Your key responsibilities:

Work on a variety of clients across the financial services sector including banking and capital markets, wealth and asset management and insurance Collaborate within small project teams across various purposes including management decision making, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), tax, financial reporting and disputes and deliver: Specialist modelling techniques to solve challenges for major companies Application of specialist valuation techniques to value business and intangible assets Play a key role in delivery of projects within each team. You will be a key person responsible for analysis, preparation of valuation reports, and development of detailed financial models Think critically, identify issues and propose strategies related to the advice being provided Maintain positive, productive, and professional relationships with client personnel and colleagues You are organised, flexible and able to work across multiple engagements

 

Skills and attributes for success   

Interest in or experience working in the Financial Services sector, an understanding of commercial and regulatory priorities unique to the sector is well regarded Experience in financial modelling in MS Excel, including experience with three-statement models, valuation models, and driver-based forecasting models Understanding of, or experience utilising various valuation techniques and methodologies (market comparables, discounted cash flow, etc.) for different purposes  Excellent analytical, communication, organisational, interpersonal, and teaming skills   An open, curious mind which can help us to enhance the way we work and bring creative solutions to client’s problems Strong teaming skills. We work in teams and pride ourselves on our open, supportive culture A strong desire to continually develop themselves and others, as part of the team you will receive ongoing formal and informal technical training and support to further develop your specialist financial modelling and valuation knowledge A degree in finance, economics, accounting or business, with demonstrated aptitude in quantitative and qualitative analysis  Possessing a CA or CFA credential or actively pursuing one is well regarded. It is expected you will complete either qualification during your time at EY
