We are looking for experienced CGE Modellers (Senior Consultants, Managers, Associate Directors) to play a leading role in growing our business and delivering high-profile engagements with our global networks and fast-moving clients.

Our Economics team operates as a national practice, giving you ongoing exposure to clients across the country and the opportunity to work on issues that interest you, regardless of your location. 

As part of our team, you’ll develop your capabilities in high quality analysis, managing relationships and challenging assumptions. You’ll receive the support, formal training and coaching you need to progress quickly along the career path you choose.

 

This is a hybrid position based in either Naarm – Melbourne, Ngambri - Canberra, Meanjin – Brisbane or Warrang – Sydney. Our roles can potentially be adjusted to work flexibly with reduced hours. Please speak with us about potential options. 

 

Your key responsibilities 

 

In your role as a CGE Modeller you will liaise with clients and deliver solutions across a range of public and private engagements. You will support our business by providing a range of technical capabilities:

Economic appraisals including cost-benefit analysis and economic impact analysis. Policy and strategy development and regulatory advice.  Running, modifying and interpreting the results of GTAP and/or GTEM Models (experience in one of these platforms is required). Programming in TABLO, GEMPACK and Python (highly desirable). Bespoke modelling of complex business problems.

 

Skills and attributes for success

 

As a modelling professional, we’re looking for people with the following attributes:

Degree qualified in economics or a related discipline with a minimum of 3 years of experience. Strong quantitative skills with a background in applied economic analysis. Experience applying CGE modelling for climate and trade analysis would be advantageous. Excellent interpersonal and client management skills, including the ability to contribute to a high-performance team environment. Demonstrated experience in conducting and writing up research on industry and policy issues. Coordinating and developing detailed proposals and supporting business development initiatives. For managers and Associate Directors, strong project management skills; the ability prioritise and manage multiple deliverables and stakeholders. Exceptional report writing and communication skills.
