EY Law – Legal Transformation Solution – Manager – Legal Data Analytics and Strategy

 

Legal departments are facing significant pressure to demonstrate greater efficiencies and value. New regulations, technologies and events are prompting legal departments to explore new ways to optimize their functions, reduce costs and provide value to the overall organization.

 

We currently have a career opportunity for a Manager on our EY Law Legal Transformation Solution (LTS) team. Our LTS team works with clients to improve the performance of the legal function and add value to the overall organization. LTS serves high-profile, national, and multinational clients across the globe. We are a growing, dynamic practice with excellent opportunities for career development.

 

The EY LTS team is focused on helping clients improve how they operate their legal function. Many clients leverage groups like LTS to bring best-in-class ideas and provide the insight and experience on how to implement these ideas. Nearly all our projects are carried out in a teaming environment with client personnel often fully involved. Our LTS team is dedicated to helping companies: (1) assess the complexities of delivering value, (2) manage risk in their corporate legal functions, and (3) improve efficiency across all aspects of the legal department - talent, processes, technology, and actionable data. Team members serve as business advisors and assist clients in transforming their legal processes from analysis phase to full implementation.

Your key responsibilities as a member of our team:

Ability to demonstrate proficiency or expertise in one or more of the following areas:

Spend analysis and strategic sourcing – perform legal spend analysis, benchmarking, and correlative strategic planning for legal departments activities. Identifies patterns in legal data and extracts meaningful conclusions to support legal strategies and decision-making. Designs and builds data models to interpret patterns and trends in legal data. Develops and implements databases and data collection systems to optimize data accuracy and quality. Ensures data privacy and compliance with legal regulations and best practices. Digital transformation Assist the client to maximize the value firm existing technology investments and design new legal service technology platforms (e.g., Matter Management/ eBilling, legal service workflow, and automation). Experience with commercially available legal technology applications– assist the client in evaluating, selecting, and implementing technologies that will bring faster and more efficient processing (e.g., Onit, Team Connect). Apply knowledge of emerging technologies – assist the client with opportunities to leverage RPA, AI, Self Service workflows and other technology to drive efficiencies and overall cost reduction across the legal function.

 

Qualifications to apply:

Bachelor's degree and approximately 5 - 7 years of related work experience; or master’s degree/JD and approximately 4 years of related work experience (preferred); Information Systems, Business, Analytics, Finance, Accounting or Legal Studies (undergraduate)/JD (graduate) fields of study preferred. Valid CPA, CIPP/E, CIPPM, CISA, CISSP, CISM, LPIP, PMP or member in good standing of the Bar in one of our 50 States Minimum 5 years of experience with Power BI Demonstrated ability to identify and address client needs, develop client relationships, and define resource requirements, project workflow, budgets, billing, and collection. Experience within a corporate legal department is also valuable. Excellent organizational and verbal/written communication skills Ability to lead multiple projects with minimal oversight. High attention to detail, outstanding organizational skills, and the ability to manage time effectively. Ability to successfully adapt to changing priorities and work demands. Position also requires the ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines, effectively prioritize multiple tasks. Recognize confidential, sensitive, and proprietary information and maintain such information as confidential. Strong problem-solving skills, takes initiative and uses good judgment, excellent follow-up skills. Demonstrated knowledge of laws and regulations that impact legal analysis. Relevant experience in one or more of the following specialty areas: a) Legal Department Operations.; b) Legal technology and innovation; c) Legal contracts and workflows/contract management; d) Legal department transformation, or e) Legal process improvement

We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business.  The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $128,400 to $235,300.  The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $154,000 to $267,400.  Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography.  In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year. Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances. You’ll also be granted time off for designated EY Paid Holidays, Winter/Summer breaks, Personal/Family Care, and other leaves of absence when needed to support your physical, financial, and emotional well-being.
