External Sales Representative

We invite passionate individuals to join our team, dedicated to exceeding customer expectations through innovative and sustainable solutions. **Job Summary:** The External Sales Representative will be responsible for seeking, cold calling and finding new business opportunities. Build strong, close and sincere relationships within our customer base and distribution network. Offer sound sales & technical assistance to distributors and end users. Ensure proper stock management to and of distributors. **RESPONSIBILITIES** + Seek, identify and prioritize potential distributors. + Negotiate market segment and / or areas of potential distributors. + Advice and drive appointed distributors’ stock holding and marketing campaigns. + When running marketing campaigns with distributors, ensure adequate stock levels to support these campaigns. + Provide sound technical advice and application support to customers and distributors. + Presentations to customers, distributors, consultants and internal staff on product and application information. + Assist with design of pumping systems, pump stations and other water handling scenarios. + Conduct fault finding and pump audits. + Ensure quotations and / or offers get communicated efficiently to customers and distributors. + Expedite client’s pumps and spares orders. + Provide accurate, relevant and up to date market and sales information. **REQUIREMENTS** + National Senior Certificate or equivalent. + Relevant Technical qualification or certification in sales will be advantageous. + Minimum 5 years technical sales experience within the relevant industry. + Sound knowledge in fluid based technologies. + Sound knowledge of applications and working of various pumps. + Must be computer literate (MS Office). + Good people and communication skills with good presentation skills. + Business developed and sales generated in regions and market segments. + Must have valid drivers licence, with ability to travel local and nationally. **SKILLS AND ABILITIES** + Strong technical capability or aptitude + Presentation skills + Communication and relationship building + Design skills is essential + Technical sales skills + Customer liaison skills + Sales negotiations skills + Training in pump application + Distributions’ stock turnover + Client relationships + Develop and execute calling schedule + Area / Market business plan + Product knowledge + Accurate forecasts Join the global Xylem team to be a part of innovative technology solutions transforming water usage, conservation, and re-use.
