External Manufacturing Sustainability Lead
We are looking for an External Manufacturing Sustainability Lead who is visionary, collaborative, and impact-driven to join our External Manufacturing team, based at our UCB campus located in Braine-l'Alleud, Wallonia, Belgium.
About the role
You are going to lead the sustainability transformation of our external manufacturing network. You will embed environmental and social responsibility into our operations, drive decarbonization, and shape the future of sustainable manufacturing at UCB.
Who you will work with
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including IT, procurement, and corporate sustainability. You will also engage with CDMOs and represent UCB in external forums and industry coalitions.
What you will do
· You will lead decarbonization strategies and promote access to circular and green materials
· You will support resilient value chains looking at material sourcing, human rights regulations, environmental risks, and biodiversity dependencies—ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and industry standards.
· You will be responsible for developing sustainability frameworks aligned with corporate and regulatory standards
· You will manage supplier engagement, audits, and follow-up on sustainability compliance
· You will create training, dashboards, and communication tools to promote sustainability culture
· You will drive continuous improvement and maturity assessments across the external manufacturing network
Interested?
· You hold a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
· You bring proven expertise in external manufacturing and sustainability
· You are fluent in English with a good understanding of French and skilled in cross-functional collaboration
· You have strong project management and stakeholder engagement capabilities
· You understand European Green Deal legislation and its impact on manufacturing
· You are proactive, analytical, and able to lead without formal authority
