Extensometer Technician

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

Assemble small mechanical components for extensometers and related devices with precision and care.Bond and align strain gages to mechanical parts using specialized adhesives and techniques.Perform fine soldering on miniature components and wires, ensuring strong, clean connections.Work under a microscope to complete detailed tasks with high accuracy.Conduct basic electronic assembly and testing, including wiring, circuit integration, and component placement.Follow detailed work instructions, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and assembly drawings.Calibrate and test completed assemblies to ensure proper function and adherence to specifications.Document work performed and complete production records accurately.Assist in troubleshooting basic electronic and mechanical issues in coordination with engineering and quality teams.Maintain a clean, organized workspace and follow cleanroom or contamination-control practices as needed.Follow safety protocols and participate in ongoing technical training.

Support Cross-Functional Departments

Crosstrain in multiple disciplines to support various manufacturing operations.Assist Engineering with prototype product development and process improvements.

Communicate Effectively

Keep Leads, Supervisors, Engineers, and peers informed of progress, issues, and process changes.Share ideas for design and process improvements.

Manage Time and Priorities Effectively

Maximize productivity, meet route times and delivery goals, and uphold quality standards.Manage concurrent tasks and responsibilities to meet all deadlines.

Perform Additional Duties as Assigned

Support departmental and organizational needs as requested.

Education and Experience Required:

AA degree, 2-year Vo-Tech certificate or equivalent military training in Electronics, Mechanics or Hydraulics or 4 years assembly or technical experience in the above including soldering and small-scale or precision assemblies.

Compensation Information:

The compensation for this position ranges from $26-$35 based on relevant education and experience
