Downer Rail & Transit Systems (RTS) is proud to be a leading provider of Rail and Transport asset management services across Australia and has been selected as the preferred organisation to deliver the Queensland Train Manufacturing Program (QTMP), the largest investment in new rollingstock in Queensland’s history.

This legacy project for Queensland will ensure the design, build, and maintenance of 65 brand new trains, design and build of manufacturing facilities and depots, a huge boost to local manufacturing and supply chain and jobs for the community.

We are seeking talented and ambitious Law and Commercial Graduates to join our vibrant project team. This is a fantastic opportunity for recent graduates with a passion for learning about the delivery of State significant infrastructure projects and the management of complex contractual arrangements. As law and commercial graduates, you will be an integral part of our dynamic team, gaining hands-on experience and exposure to various facets of the QTMP project.

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assist in the development, implementation and management of commercial strategies to support the delivery of the QTMP project Assist other team members in managing commercial aspects of the contractual arrangements on the QTMP project Contribute to the development and improvement of internal processes to enhance overall efficiency

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Law, Construction Management and/or Quantity Surveying preferred.  Final year students may be considered where their demonstrated skill set meets the requirements  Strong analytical and critical thinking skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Proactive and results orientated mindset Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently Interest in delivery of State significant infrastructure projects
