FUNCTIONS Missions : As part of the microbiology monitoring division, you will play a key role in the development and formulation of microbiological culture media for the pharmaceutical, food, beverage and related markets. Location : Molsheim (France) or Darmstadt (Germany) Funcions and responsibilities : - Manage R&D activities related to the development of dehydrated and ready-to-use culture media. - Select ingredients, optimize formulations and design innovative recipes adapted to pharmaceutical, food, beverage and related markets. - Contribute to the development of technological and product roadmaps, identifying growth opportunities in line with portfolio strategy. - Participate in the continuous improvement of product quality. - Ensure a smooth and efficient transition from development to industrial production. - Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and international quality standards throughout the development process. - Work closely with internal teams and external partners in a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment. - Provide technical expertise to solve complex problems, with a strong emphasis on innovation. Profile required: - PhD (or equivalent) in microbiology or biochemistry - Significant experience in media development and formulation, ideally 5 years or more - Mastery of raw material selection and formulation of proprietary media - Experience in the pharmaceutical, biotech or agri-food industries or equivalent sectors, or academic profile with publications/patents - Strong laboratory skills, statistical analysis and experimental design (DoE) - Fluency in written and spoken English Personal skills - Excellent communication and organizational skills - Ability to work in a multicultural, matrix environment, with a high level of management awareness. - Scientific rigor and attention to detail - Passion for innovation and solving complex problems - Critical thinking and in-depth analytical skills: to objectively evaluate experimental results, identify areas for improvement and make well-founded decisions. -Autonomy and a sense of responsibility: to conduct research projects with great latitude, while respecting set objectives. -Adaptability: to cope with rapidly changing priorities, industrial or regulatory constraints. - Technical leadership and cross-functional management: to guide teams on scientific or technological choices, even without a direct hierarchical link. - Collaborative spirit: work effectively with a variety of contacts (production, quality, marketing, external partners). - Results orientation: ability to lead development projects through to industrial implementation, with a strong commitment to deliverables.
