**Job Summary:**
Xylem is seeking a hands-on, mechanically inclined professional to join our team as an **Expert Field Service Technician** . In this role, you will initiate and execute field service activities at customer sites in a safe, efficient, and professional manner. You’ll work with advanced and complex systems, perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and diesel equipment, manage parts inventory, and ensure both Company and Customer equipment operates safely.

This position involves direct interaction with customers and may require work across multiple systems, locations, and clients.
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Maintain and promote a safe working environment and culture.
+ Protect and care for company property and equipment.

+ Work independently with minimal supervision; able to lead, coach, and motivate others.
+ Function effectively in team environments.
+ Deliver exceptional customer service and technical support on-site.
+ Troubleshoot and repair systems with a strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and diesel equipment.
+ Perform preventative maintenance and manage parts/tools inventory.
+ Maintain accurate service documentation.
**Education & Experience Requirements:**
+ High school diploma or equivalent.
+ 3 to 7 years of relevant technical work experience preferred.
+ Ability to obtain DOT Medical Card and all required customer clearances (e.g., TWIC, DISA).
+ Clean driving record.
+ Technical certification, degree, or industry-specific licenses.
+ Military technical background
**Driving Requirements:**
+ Completion of Driver Application for Employment.
+ Satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
**Skills & Qualifications:**
+ Strong electrical, mechanical, diesel, and/or fusion experience (depending on business unit).
+ Able to work without direct supervision and provide coaching to junior technicians.
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office and smart device usage.
+ Demonstrates critical thinking and troubleshooting skills.
+ Clear and effective communication of technical information.
+ Draws on customer experience to develop practical, innovative solutions.
**Travel Requirements**
+ Typically includes **1–2 overnight stays per week** , depending on customer needs and project locations.
**Compensation & Benefits:**
The estimated salary range for this position is **$27 to $37.**
_Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors such as skills, experience, and work location._
