Experienced Technical Writer (Fire & Life Safety)

We have an opportunity for an Experienced\nTechnical Writer (Fire & Life Safety) to join us at Honeywell, in Leicester, where you will lead the\ndevelopment and maintenance of technical documentation for solutions across the\nHBT Technical Publications team with a focus on the Fire and Life Safety line\nof business. You will work in a global environment and collaborate with other\ncontent developers, product owners, offering managers, engineers, developers,\nUI designers, operations and other stakeholders to deliver documentation. The\ndocumentation of the solutions includes software and hardware and should be\ndesigned for customer consumption. You have the natural ability to evaluate and\nanalyze complex information and then clearly explain them to others in simple\nterms.

This is a hybrid role, 3 days at the office + 2 days work from home model.

Key Responsibilities

Develop comprehensive documentation that meets organizational standardsIdentify with product management technical documentation tools to support our physical and digital productsWork in a diverse global team to create and deliver high quality technical content in a timely manner. Work closely with engineering, regulatory and marketing teams to develop and review technical contentApply modern technical writing techniques and tools to ensure customer clarityMaintenance of existing technical documentation artifacts

Key Skills and Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Technical Communication or technical field preferredSolid experience in a technical documentation role with superior written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on detail, as well as experience negotiating and working with a global writing teamProven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, with an eye for prioritizationExperience using modern development processes, such as SAFe AgileCertification through the Society for Technical Communicators, and experience using Madcap Flare (preferred), Adobe Framemaker, or other XML tools to create documentation
