The Boeing Company is looking for an Experienced Software Engineer - Test & Verification to join the C-17 Mission Software & Services team located in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) & Boeing Global Services (BGS) Software Engineering organization.
The C-17 program develops and qualifies mission critical flight software under both sustainment and new capabilities contracts. Candidates will support software design, development, integration, and qualification as part of full life-cycle development activities in an Agile environment. C-17 sustainment covers mission systems, displays, communications controllers, and various cockpit interfaces for the airlift platform, along with support for DevOps and infrastructure maintenance.
Position Responsibilities:
Designs, develops, and completes test and verification of software products to ensure quality, reliability, and functionality.Partners with stakeholders to review and identify software requirements, test objectives, test strategies, and testabilityDesigns test plans, cases, and scenarios to meet software requirements and specificationsSets up and configures test environments, including hardware, software, and network configurations to replicate production environmentsExecutes test cases and scenarios to verify functionality, performance, and safety of software systems, identifying and reporting defects, issues, and potential vulnerabilities found during testing processesProvides test results and feedback on software design and functionality to resolve defects, issues, and potential vulnerabilitiesCreates, documents, and maintains test plans, procedures, cases, artifacts, metrics, and data in accordance with data privacy and security protocols and standardsDevelops and maintains automated test scripts and frameworks to improve efficiency and effectiveness of testing processesPerforms software project management functions across test and verification activities involving multifunctional teamsBasic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
5 years of experience in test script development, C/C++, and ADA.5 years of experience in real-time embedded operating systems, Linux, and Windows.5 years of experience in scripting languages.5 years of experience in software requirements, test planning, and Agile workflow.Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer scienceKnowledge of verification, validation, certification and qualification processes and procedures, including knowledge of governing regulations and compliance requirements. Ability to assess and document test or analysis data to show compliance.Knowledge of how to derive and allocate requirements (e.g., system, sub-system, software) and show traceability throughout the product lifecycle.Ability to design and develop automation of software tests, execute automated tests, track results, manage test data, and utilize results to improve software quality.Knowledge of implementation of software test frameworks, tools and simulations.Knowledge of software practices (e.g., configuration control, change management, problem reporting, software design, peer review, testing, and T&E specific practices), programming languages, and operating systems.Knowledge of test program design (e.g., design of experiments, test plan development, validation).Knowledge of DevSecOps and CI/CD.Works under minimal direction.Travel: less than 10%

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary Pay Range for Experienced:$104,550 - $141,450
