About Houston

ExxonMobil's state-of-the-art campus north of Houston serves as home to its Upstream, Product Solutions and Low Carbon Solutions businesses and their associated service groups. The facility opened in 2014 and accommodates more than 10,000 employees and visitors.

By bringing many global functional groups together, the campus provides employees with the tools and capabilities needed today, and in the future, to achieve business objectives and accelerate the discovery of new resources, technologies and products. It was designed to foster improved collaboration, creativity and innovation and enhance the company’s ability to attract, develop and retain the top talent in the industry.

The campus is located in Spring, Texas, on 385 wooded acres immediately to the west of Interstate Highway 45 (I-45), at the intersection of I-45 and the Hardy Toll Road, approximately 25 miles from the cultural vibrancy of downtown Houston.

The campus was constructed to the highest standards of energy efficiency and environmental stewardship. Its design incorporates extensive research into best practices in building and workplace design through extensive benchmarking of the world’s top academic, research, and corporate facilities.

What role you will play in our team

Exploration Geoscientists work across basin, play, prospect, and field scales to discover and evaluate the commercial potential of new hydrocarbon subsurface opportunities. They are responsible for delivering high quality subsurface descriptions and clearly communicating key risks and uncertainties to support business investment decisions.

These professionals combine their subsurface and commercial insights to identify, capture and mature economic opportunities across a breadth of value chains through the interpretation and integration of geological and geophysical data, including seismic, well logs, fluids, and core samples. Advanced mapping, interpretation, and modeling techniques are routinely applied. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential, particularly in reservoir characterization, economic screening, well planning, and drilling execution.

What you will do

Effectively integrates subsurface understanding with economic, risk, and market insights to prioritize exploration opportunities and guide sound investment decisions. Demonstrates independent problem-solving by leveraging geoscience expertise, diverse datasets, and analogs, applying sound judgment and timely execution to deliver business-aligned solutions while maintaining a competitive edge through prior experience.

Demonstrated ability to synthesize and apply geological knowledge, concepts, and skills to solve complex subsurface challenges, while continuously expanding technical expertise across disciplines. Proficient in generating and high-grading exploration leads within regional geological frameworks, even in data-constrained environments. Skilled in evaluating resource potential and economic value through the full exploration lifecycle—from regional mapping, lead identification and prospect generation to maturation and drilling execution. Adept at integrating multi-scale datasets (seismic, well logs, core data) to construct robust and predictive subsurface models. Proven effectiveness in collaborating within and across diverse, multi-disciplinary teams to drive exploration success and knowledge sharing. Able to align technical decisions with strategic and commercial objectives, ensuring that geological activities contribute meaningfully to portfolio value and long-term growth.
